Introducing Branon Merryweather.
Brandon Merryweather is a young, timid New York accountant who lives on the fifth floor of his Manhattan apartment building with his cat Fluffy. Brandon has two passions in life. Numbers and the written word. He makes his living crunching numbers, and he unwinds by reading a good book. Brandon is intimidated easily and gets picked on all the time at work. They call him names such as geek or nerd and make his life a living hell. To escape his harsh world, Brandon flees to numbers or the written word. One morning, Brandon's life takes a strange twist. After reading a chapter in a tattered old cowboy book, which is now out of print and who's author is deceased, Brandon steps out of the front door of his Manhattan apartment building, he sees a flash of blue light, catches a scent of burning ozone and closes his eyes in fear. When he opens his eyes, Brandon is standing in the gritty dirt street of Greedy Gulch, the wild West 1880s boom town, from the novel he was reading titled, The Mojave Kid. As a freight wagon is baring down on him, Brandon passes out in the street.
Brandon learns to survive in a savage new land, in a world who's existence is fading. The people there call him the new Tale Spinner and expect him to finish the tale. Eventually, Brandon finds his way back to his own place and time only to be transported far into the future and then to the past where he hooks up with an Irish gumshoe in LA of the 1940s.
In the end Brandon becomes a recluse, afraid to leave his apartment, but the characters from the land of fiction show up at his apartment in Manhattan for the final showdown.
